“Story To Tell?” The Lantern Theatre Sunday 1st July 2012

“Story To Tell?” The Lantern Theatre Sunday 1st July 2012...Pencil Trick Productions present “Story To Tell?” a brand new schedule of creative networking events taking place throughout 2012.
These bi-monthly forums held across Liverpool will aim to connect people who have ‘stories to tell’ with those who have the means to tell them. We want to link scriptwriters with directors, bands with video producers, artists with galleries, to name but a few. On a larger scale we also want to put local community groups and social enterprises who have something to tell the world in touch with the production companies, writers and videographers who can help them vocalise it.
Each event is tailored to a specific creative field and hosts exciting and knowledgeable industry guest speakers. We invite the relating artistic community to come and collaborate via our informal networking sessions.
The next “Story To Tell?” event will be held at The Lantern Theatre 57 Blundell Street, Liverpool, L1 0AJ, 6pm onwards on Sunday 1st July 2012
In association with A Rush of Laughter, this “Story To Tell?” Networking Event focuses on the ‘Comedy Industry’ with tips for success and insight from guest speakers including local compere and comic Che Burnley, award winning Stand Up Andy Watson who has supported on tour the likes of Paddy Mcguiness, Stand up Pete Otway described by Liverpool Echo as Amiable, cheeky classic stand up.” andHeadliner Seymour Mace – Star Of BBC3’s Ideal & Dave’s One Night Stand.
Tucked away in the heart of The Baltic Triangle the cosy and welcoming Lantern Theatre is building quite a reputation as the go to gig for North West comedy fans and comics alike. Monthly comedy night A Rush of Laughter is being hailed as the next big thing on the comedy circuit and is attracting a host of names, previous headliners include Alex Boardman, Sully O’Sullivan, Tony Burgess and Mark Rough.
This Networking event is for you if you currently work as or want to connect with:
  • Local comedy sketch writers,
  •  Arts and Events Bloggers,
  • Stand Up Comics and performers,
  •  TV Comedy Production Companies
  •  Theatres and Stand Up venues
The panel will cover topics including comedy writing, performance, contacts, circuit tips and also how comedy can be used to cross over into different industries and platforms.
Attendees of “Story To Tell?” will be offered a special reduced admission rate of £5 to the Rush of Laughter comedy night commencing immediately after the networking at 7.30pm where our panel of guests will perform their art.

PH creative – FREE Social Media Bar – Liverpool

Basr _blog _img

The Ph.Creative Social Media Bar!

Here at Ph.Creative we love social media, and we love talking about it. We also happen to be quite partial to an ice cold Peroni and a Jack and coke; which is why we have created our ‘Social Media Bar!’
We want you to come and join us twice a month for drinks, networking and discussions about the latest Social Media exploits, goings on, controversies and successes.
Bar
We’ll keep you in the know and we’ll keep your glass full – you can’t say fairer than that. This isn’t a formal networking event, instead, it’s more of a chance to come and relax after work and share knowledge with like-minded entrepreneurs, businesses leaders and managers.

Our first Social Media Bar will be on Thursday 17th of May starting at 4.30pm. Our topic for the evening will be Google+ so make sure you bring a +1 and answer our quick poll… Will Google+ be bigger than Facebook in 3 years time?
You can find us on the 1st floor of No.24 Queen’s Insurance Buildings, just off Dale Street and Castle Street. If you’re unsure, here is a MAP.

Come and Social Network…

Social Media Cafe Liverpool – FREE Event

social media cafe advert
Social Media Cafe Liverpool is back and this time it’s audio that gets all the attention and rightly so.

Static Gallery on Roscoe Lane will once again host SMCliv on Thursday April 19th where they will be offering an evening exploring the growing use of audio within Social Media. Looking at online audio platforms, podcasting and the uses of audio for business development.
A panel of three experts will present on their areas of specialism in audio and social media, be that marketing, journalism, writing, teaching or music. The forum will then be opened out to the floor for a more general discussion and Q&A session.
The use of audio in social media has grown steadily since the dawn of podcasting and today with platforms like Audioboo and Soundcloud enabling public engagement in projects and products it’s still expanding. The panellists this month are Musician and Writer – Dan Lynch, The Podcast Guy and European Podcast Ambassador – Dave Thackeray and Podcaster Graham Holland from Liverpool Acoustic Live.
Dan Lynch, co-organiser and speaker said
“People should come along to learn more about podcasting and how it can be useful for business, marketing or just for fun. I’ve been very lucky that making a popular podcast has opened many doors for me over the years. My own story ties heavily into social media and SMC Liverpool makes the perfect setting to tell it.”
The presentations are followed by a Panel discussion and Q&A session open to everyone for contributions, with questions being taken from twitter and via the Live Video Stream using the Hastag #SMCLiv.
Social Media Café Liverpool is an evening examining the way that Social Media affects society, discussing its uses and implications. It will promote a responsible and professional use of these digital tools, be that in for personal or business purposes.
